Celeste Guap Interview - Her Advice For Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf On Police Department

Celeste Guap Interview - Her Advice For Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf On Police Department Celeste Guap is the young woman who has been at the center of a very sad story that started when she was but 16 years old. Ms Guap took up a relationship with an Oakland police officer she met while turning tricks as a prostitute working in Oakland and the East Bay. His name was Brendan O'Brien. In my 23 minute unedited video interview posted at Zennie62 on YouTube, Zennie62.com, and Oakland Focus Blog, to name the main outlets of Zennie62Media, Ms. Guap explained that their relationship was a romantic one. But that the encounter with him caused a series of sexual relationships with what she reports as 16 Oakland police officers, as well as 6 Richmond police officers, 4 Alameda County Sheriff's Deputies, 3 San Francisco police officers, and one officer each: a U.S. Military Defense Logistics Agency officer, a Contra Costa Sheriff's deputy, and a Livermore police officer. Some of the encounters were while she was 16, although the four Alameda County Sheriff's Deputies were cleared because she was 18 and no exchange of money was involved. What opened up the situation that Guap finds hereself in is that Officer O'Brien died September 25th, 2015. Officer O'Brien reportedly took his own life, and it's an act that Guap blames herself for. Celeste told me on video that she was in Puerto Rico and that she drunk-dialed the man she was in love with, O'Brien. But she says he did not answer her calls, but she could see he was on Facebook and making comments. She became upset that he was ignoring her, and then threatened to expose their relationship. Celeste Guap's Advice To Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf My objective in the interview was to talk to Ms. Guap and understand the experience from her point of view, and in a way that didn't have the sex-oriented presentation we have been presented with in the mainstream media. Celeste has been through enough to have an educated view of what's wrong with the Oakland Police Department and how to fix it – if anyone would ask her. When I asked her what she would tell Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf , Guap said, after a bit of pause to thought, that she would tell her that their needed to be a higher minimum age standard because the police were “too young” and that they were just bringing anyone in to be a cop. Guap also called for citizen oversight. (On the subject of youth, what we also talked about was how, at 16 and 17, Guap did have conversations with her officer sex partners about her being underage. They were on the average over 30, but would only tell her to “hurry up and turn 18.” There's more in the interview. For example, where one media outlet said that Guap told her she was still a street worker, Celeste told me she was a makeup artist. Overall, I think Celeste Guap can be a great elected official and can help spearhead police reform. Indeed, she also believes that prostitution should be legalized and sex-workers allowed to get registered. If that and the legalization of marijuana happens, we will see a sea change end in the kind of environment that caused Celeste Guap to wind up in the situation she found herself in. Stay tuned. Oakland Raiders Owner Mark Davis Met With Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen On New Stadium Plans

Oakland Raiders Owner Mark Davis Met With Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen On New Stadium Plans Now it can be confirmed via a large number of sources this week, that Oakland Raiders Owner Mark Davis is indeed meeting with and talking to Ronnie Lott, the NFL Hall of Fame Legend with the Silver and Black and the San Francisco 49ers. Moreover, Davis met not just with Lott but with another Raiders Legend Marcus Allen, and that happened this week. This new news ads to my previous vlog officially reporting that a 'memorandum of understanding' is expected to be signed between what has come to be known as the “Ronnie Lott Group” (consisting of Lott, former NFL Quarterback Rodney Peete, sports agent Bill Duffy, Fannie Mae Chairman Egbert Perry, Mission Bay Development Group Founder Seth Hamalian, and now Allen), and the City of Oakland and the County of Alameda. What Allen's role in the group is not clear at this time, according to my friends I've talked to, but I will speculate that Allen's great relationship with Davis (who extended an olive branch to bring Marcus back into the Raiders as an officially recognized legend after Allen was first treated poorly by and then eventually blocked by the late Al Davis), coupled with the fact that Lott and Allen were USC teammates and Peete was a USC quarterback legend, and remains good friends with Allen and Lott to this day (to the point of recently celebrating Holly Robinson Peete's 50th birthday), has something to do with Allen's involvement in the Ronnie Lott Group. But the main point for this entry is that Davis has talked to Lott, and more than once, about an Oakland stadium plan that includes development of what I'm told will be about 35 to 40 acres of land within the 120 acres of land that is Coliseum City. Moreover, Lott has the involvement of a group of banks that, together, give him enough financial firepower to do a 'Stan Kronke-type' privately financed deal (referring to the owner of the LA Rams and the fiscal engine behind the storied organization coming back to Los Angeles after years in St. Louis). That said, this project will involve public investment and that would go for infrastructure needs. In short, the Lott plan picks up where the Floyd Kephart plan left off, but without the fiscal, developmental, and political issues – this is a group that Mark Davis is comfortable with. Moreover, I'm starting to think that Davis himself had some role in assembling this, though I can't yet prove that. The reason I believe Mark Davis may have played some role in former NFL Players and Raiders Legends being at the center of this is, is because of his interest in the well-being of retired NFL players and in particular Raiders players. Davis wasn't at the recent gathering of Mike Ditka's Gridiron Greats fund raising organization just to visit Las Vegas; he truly believes in being supportive of maintaining the financial and health conditions of former NFL players. What a story it would be to have Lott, one of the NFL's great people, and his friends and business partners, and so many NFL Legends at the center of keeping the Raiders in Oakland. It's something NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wants to see happen and now it seems Davis is on board with what Lott's doing, because he's meeting with him. Indeed, a lot of actions that need to fall into place are: on Tuesday night, the Oakland City Council approved a near-three-quarter-million-dollars to hire consultants for a land appraisal of Coliseum City. Now the idea that neither the City of Oakland nor the County of Alameda has spent any more money than internal staff time is a thing of the past. This path toward a new stadium for the Raiders in Oakland is taking shape, carefully and rightly. It should be noted that the City of Oakland and the County of Alameda have already committed more money to a stadium in Oakland than has Clark County done for the Raiders in Las Vegas. In case you're keeping score. Stay tuned.

2014 Study Killed Publicly-Financed Las Vegas NFL Football Stadium
A little-known study commissioned by the University Of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and released September 30, 2014 concluded that a scenario involving a public and private financing partnership to build a new "multi-purpose" facility large enough for college and NFL football was not feasible due to fiscal uncertainty. This is summarized on page 20 of the 251 page study, which you can read here: http://ift.tt/29cucVk The question is why didn't the Southern Nevada Tourism and infrastructure Committee know about this document before now? The Oakland Raiders and Las Vegas Sands Majestic Team has presented and tried to politically force the SNTIC to recommend public funding of an NFL stadium and to the tune of $750 million. It seems like the SNTIC has missed other studies that would have nixed this and called for a privately financed stadium. Stay tuned.

Is Penrose Oakland Trying To Put The Alley Out Of Business?

For decades The Alley was and is known for its live music. The top attraction has been the legendary Rod Dibble. Rod has played the piano at the bar and restaurant at 3325 Grand Avenue since 1963. But now a new restaurant called Penrose has owned right next door. First the combination of its high end food and The Alley's entertainment worked well for both places. Then Penrose started having its own live music. Some have told me that while The Alley has a music license, Penrose does not. I have not checked this. But I have noticed that the later hour crowds at The Alley have really decreased after 11 on Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile Penrose is still going strong. Is Penrose Oakland trying to put The Alley out of business?

Oakland Raiders Deal 2: Clark County Nevada Gets Bond Defaults In Las Vegas NFL Stadium Proposal On June 23rd, the Southern Nevada Tourism and Infrastructure Committee (SNTIC) was presented with a document (this one in the link here and at the bottom of this post) that, if passed, would have lead to the recommendation to the Governor of Nevada and the State Legislature’s Infrastructure Committee of a stadium authority that would be the most powerful in America, and one that could have placed a possible $750 million bond debt default problem directly on the general fund of Clark County. There are so many points I want to cover, especially in response to the misinformation and misguided arguments reported by the media. However, for me, the referendum is really only about one thing - our Sovereignty. Sovereignty is defined as “the full right and power of a governing body to govern itself without any interference from outside sources or bodies” - Wikipedia. Currently, the EU makes around 60% of our laws. Laws that affect us, and yet we have no influence on them whatsoever. A good example of how little say we have on our own affairs is David Cameron’s recent failure of to renegotiate some basic terms with the EU on our behalf. Yes, prior to setting a referendum date, our own democratically elected British Prime Minister attempted to negotiate a better deal for Britain and the EU rejected our requests. So again, I will take this opportunity to focus on just one single concern. The single most important issue of this referendum. The answer to a question that is fundamental to our future and the many generations who will inherit our decision. Do we the British people want to be self-governing, or do we want to be governed by the European Union? Please be aware that a vote to remain will most certainly signal the final and irreversible surrender of our sovereignty to the EU, and with it, end our fundamental right to determine our own destiny. Yet, Vote Leave, and we will continue to be an integral part of Europe whilst also re-gaining the right to exclusively govern our own affairs. A vote to leave is a positive step forward into freedom and self-governance, so let’s make June 23rd our Independence Day. Cllr. K Carroll"

Oakland Raiders Marc Badain Blows Gasket Over SNTIC Reduced Las Vegas NFL Stadium Funding Proposal
Well, after being blasted and made fun of on a consistent basis by some so-called Oakland Raiders fans, I have not one problem saying that I told you so. I said that Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval's Southern Nevada Tourism and Infrastructure Committee (SNTIC) – the temporary group he formed to bring attention to pressing capacity problems with all types of infrastructure in that state - would wind up considering a proposal that would result in a lower public funding portion than the level that Oakland Raiders Owner Mark Davis said was something he had to have: $750 million. I also said the SNTIC would not take action on the Oakland Raiders Las Vegas Stadium, and they did not – but what they did talk about doing in the stadium workshop session set the tone for what will be an amazing July 11th meeting: an alternative proposal of $550 million from hotel tax revenues over a 30 year period. And an amount not far off from where I said it would be. As I have said before, that's not at all surprising because there is not enough projected hotel tax revenue to do both LVCC Expansion and the Las Vegas Raiders Stadium and at the bond debt coverage ratios called for; what is surprising to me is that Oakland Raiders President Marc Badain would basically lose his temper over the matter. When faced with the news, Badain said for the public to hear that the news “Was terrible for the Raiders Organization” and that he was “disappointed by what we've seen today” and let it be known that the reduction of the public tax revenue share “would be viewed as a negative by the team.” Marc should have just clipped himself. What he should have said is “We'll take a look at this proposal and talk more about it after the meeting.” But the way he and his Majestic Realty and Las Vegas Sands colleagues handled the news was such that they showed right off the bat how collectively unfamiliar with high-stakes politics they are. Especially Badain, who has been the Raiders President for just over one year, and all of that was evident at the SNTIC meeting and just when the situation called for political savvy. Instead, Badain reached for the old Al Davis playbook of domination that worked for the organization in the 20th Century, but only pisses people off and makes them find ways around the Silver and Black in the 21st Century. What Marc forgot, if he was ever trained to know it, is that in the field of high-stakes politics, one always prepares for the alternative, keeps his or her cool, and has a backup plan. Badain and his friends showed they were not ready for negotiating prime time with their reactions. About now, you may be wondering why I read like I'm upset with Marc given that he's all but doomed his Las Vegas project to failure. It's because we in Oakland have had to deal with the same person and organization, that's why. I am going to save the Oakland side of my blast of the Raiders management and negotiating style for another post, but I have to report I thought the organization's lack of preparation was something evident only in Alameda County. Nope. Not at all. Mark Davis and Marc Badain have mishandled Carson and now Las Vegas – they're better off staying in Oakland, where they have true friends among elected and appointed officials. The Las Vegas people are completely smooth cut throat experts apparently cut from the same cloth as the legendary Pete Rozelle, the NFL Commissioner – they nice you to death. Yours, not theirs. In this case, Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson has thrown Davis and Badain to the wolves. Adelson knows full well there are powerful business interests that want the expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center, and he's using the Raiders to stop their efforts because he objects to the use of public money for convention centers. Oh, and let's not forget his own hotels and casinos and convention centers in Las Vegas and Macao, China, either. Wants to make sure the business playing field is tilted in their direction. It never occurred to Mark Davis or Marc Badain just how much these people who run the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Convention and Visitors Bureau really want him out of the way, but they will never at all say it. Sure. Of course they want the NFL, but not using a scenario that cuts into their seed corn: hotel tax revenue. So, they're being real nice about it, and making it look like the Raiders are going to get what they want. But what's happening is, little by little, the Raiders aren't getting what they want at all. And on Thursday, Steven Hill, the Chairman of the SNTIC, and the Director of Economic Development for Nevada, said the magic words that make this the very battle I did not see coming, but now it all makes sense: Hill said they were going to compare the economic benefits of both the LVCC Expansion and the Raiders Las Vegas Stadium, side-by-side. Why Brexit Should Worry American Democrats In Clinton v Trump

Brexit. The vote to have Great Britain leave the European Union that is called Brexit was such that this vlogger didn't expect it to pass. When the idea of the EU was presented in the mid 80s, the objective was to create a kind of United States of Europe. A teaming up of European nations that would collectively rival the economic power of America. Or that was the intent. While the EU has worked very well in some ways, like Airbus Industries, it has not worked well in solving the same have versus have not economic problem we have in America. That has led to a rise in racism and anti-immigrant sentiment that some politicians over there have tapped into. Much like Donald Trump's rise to Presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee has been built on anti-immigrant ideas and racism in America. Young voters can stop this but in the UK context of Brexit, millennials did not vote at the rate expected - many sat at home. Looking at the fact that compared to 2008, when Barack Obama became the first black president of The United States, Democratic voter turnout as a whole is less as a percentage than it was then. We have to look to millennials to ask why. In the case of Donald Trump, Republican voter turnout was so high that record were set in 10 states. They were not paced by young voters but baby boomers. The Democratic Party has to really gear up its get out the vote program to prevent this. Because if we don't, we could wind up with Trump as President. That would be a bad thing. Stay tuned.

U.S Supreme Court Rejects Ecuador Appeal Of Chevron Award #Chevron
Chevron Ecuador news with a twist. The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear Ecuador's appeal of the DC Circuit 2006 decision to award Chevron $106 million in damages stemming from long neglected lawsuits that go back to the 1990s. Texaco was in oil production partnership with Ecuador and in 1973 had a deal where the nation got low market rate oil for domestic use. By the end of the Tex-Pet corporate partnership Texaco found they Ecuador used far more than the oil they contracted for. Texaco sued and Ecuador ignored the lawsuits Then Chevron bought Texaco and this issue. In 2006 it sued and won in the DC Circuit. Ecuador was trying to claim that because it had an agreement with Tecaco and not Chevron it had no contract. The DC Circuit disagreed. Ten years later in refusing to hear the appeal the US Supreme Court upheld the DC Circuit.

UNLV Las Vegas Oakland Raiders Stadium News Update
UNLV Las Vegas Oakland Raiders Stadium News Update The update here in this video explains why the Southern Nevada Tourism and Infrastructure Committee only has stadium proposal alternatives for discussion on the June 23rd agenda of the SNTIC. The fact is the information that UNLV could make the airport site work from an FAA standpoint was old news but it was not reported after two things happened: first Sheldon Adelson bought the Las Vegas Review Journal last November and then the Raiders stepped in to the picture. After that the Review Journal took the stance that the FAA site UNLV said could not work, could work because they got a hold of a consultant who was not on the project but was used as a PR mouth piece. So the real story was buried. The truth is the a Raiders and Las Vegas Sands and Majestic don't have a workable site and are still miles away from securing one. Also many don't understand the role of the SNTIC. Whatever it does goes to the governor and then to the Infrastructure Committee of the Nevada Legislature. There is a chance the football stadium never makes it out of committee, where LVCC Expansion does. Stay tuned.
