Star Trek Beyond Review At Cinemark Fayetteville, GA The start of Star Trek Beyond has Kirk violating the Prime Directive in forcing a gift onto representatives of a culture that did not want it. That is something the real Captain Kirk would not do. The Prime Directive is Starfleet Order 1 : nonintervention in the cultures of planets. The moment the Alien objected to the gift and made it obvious Kirk knew nothing of where it came from, he should have backed off. He has violated the Prime Directive but not to shove a gift down someone's throat. The real Kirk would know what the gift was. This Kirk did not know.
