Azelia Banks' Twitter account was suspended on Thursday and for a series of racist and homophobic tweets toward celebs like Zane Malik of One Direction. But Ms. Banks is not the first high profile female celebrity to go off on Twitter: Amanda Bynes did so in 2011, when she called Drake ugly and then another celebrity a "faggot". Still, Twitter allowed Bynes to keep her account. Why the double standard? Is it because Amanda Bynes is a blonde white woman and Azelia Banks is a black woman? I am not defending Ms. Banks' tweets but I am pointing to what appears to be a race based double standard. Stay tuned.
