Cop Hugging Protestor Ferguson Hugs Photo Shows Racism Claims Overblown The photo of a cop hugging a Ferguson protestor has went viral on social media. Portland Police Sgt. Bret Barnum saw 12-year-old Devonte Hart's free hugs sign and the result was a much talked about picture taken by Johnny Nguyen - one that has been shared 400,000 times on Facebook. The Johnny Nguyen photo shows that the claims that racism is worse today than in the 1960s are way overblown - which should not be a surprise considering many of the people who make those statements weren't even around in the 60s (I was). The problem is an isolated one and is a combination of poor job opportunities, under-educated white men taking police jobs, and , poor police - community training. But the mainstream media combined with social media has made it look like the problem is larger than just Ferguson, or towns like it. Not so. Visit our blog Zennie62.com here: http://ift.tt/1d6iMwr
