I can see how this story came about: Mark Davis talked to someone and then that person tipped ESPN. Davis has a way of making comments that indicate a bold move. He did this with me, when he asked me to come up with a plan for a stadium for Oakland. But ESPN reporters Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen say this time it's different and that Davis is more intent on making an offer. Gruden says only that he's talked to people, but that's it.
