Oakland has developed an Emmett Till Lynch Mob Climate, where social media is used to get neighbors to confront people based only on what someone wrote about them online. More often than not the person who is the focus is black and male. This situation developed because of the influx of mostly white and Asian residents to Oakland over the last ten years ,and ramped up over the last three years, who fear "the other" and don't communicate with their neighbors. One day, a young black man who did not commit a crime will be targeted as if he did and killed unless something is done to stop this.
